Introducing Ego Death, a new ride series we're hosting in partnership with As Far As I'm Concerned (AFAIC). This series consists of four unique epic rides, all designed to invert the paradigms surrounding teamwork and individuality in sport.
Ego Death 1: Penance | 3/3/24
Join in the advent of your own remaking. Penance begins at ILE in Berkeley (free coffee supplied by Artís at the start) and travels north across the Carquinez Bridge before diverting to the gravel roads north of Suisun Bay. Looping back, the ride crosses the Antioch Bridge and among the rolling hills of the East Bay back to Berkeley.
The ride pace will be steady with times of discomfort, with the goal of finishing before dark. Short stops and regroup locations noted in the Strava route. Differing ability and experience levels are welcome, but every rider must be self-sufficient in nutrition, supplies, and navigation in case they are not able to stay with the main group. Post-ride food and drinks at a location TBA.
